Truck driver dies after going into cardiac arrest, crashing near Dundee

A Washington man was killed after he suffered cardiac arrest and crashed near Dundee Wednesday morning.

DUNDEE, Ore. – A Washington man was killed after he went into cardiac arrest and crashed near Dundee Wednesday morning.

Dwayne Kemp, 46, of Tacoma, was driving southbound on Highway 99W when he went into cardiac arrest at around 6:40 a.m. The medical event caused Kemp to veer off the road, drive across the grass median and collide with a northbound SUV, according to Oregon State Police. The collision occurred near milepost 28, about a mile south of Dundee.

Kemp was taken to Providence Hospital in Newberg, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver and passengers in the SUV suffered minor injuries, police said.
