GRESHAM, Ore. -- Sam Barlow High School was in lockdown Thursday afternoon while police investigated a report of a gun on campus.
But the 911 call claiming a student brought a handgun to the school was a hoax, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.
Police and deputies responded to the school around 11 a.m. and began searching the campus. One person of interest was found in a classroom and interviewed, deputies said.
The students were instructed to remain in their classrooms inside the school.
After the interview and investigation, deputies said the threat was a hoax.
The lockdown was lifted around 1 p.m.
Sam Barlow High is located at 5105 Southeast 302nd Avenue in Gresham.
