WOODLAND, Wash. – A person was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Woodland on Monday evening, police said.

Amtrak said train 507 was heading south to Eugene when it struck a person around 5:08 p.m.

Police believe the person was a man, but could not confirm that. The Cowlitz County coroner is working to identify the body.

It’s unclear why the person was on the tracks.

No one on the train was hurt.

The train was moving again at 6:55 p.m.
