VANCOUVER, Wa. – Vancouver Police arrested a man after an overnight search that included a SWAT team.

The suspect, Brad Reeves, is to remain in the Clark County Jail. The judge denied Reeves bail for two cases, and set bail at $1.7 million for others, meaning Reeves will stay behind bars for now. He's due in court again on April 20.

Reeves has 48 prior warrants and a criminal history dating back several years.

When police first contacted Reeves Wednesday evening, officers fired shots, according to a police statement. No one was injured in the hours-long incident.

Vancouver police identified the officers as Officer Katie Endresen, 26, and Officer Christopher Simmons, 38.

Brad Reeves was taken into custody at about 2 a.m. after he was found hiding in a yard in the 2600 block of T Street, near Fourth Plain Boulevard.

Reeves reportedly shot at someone on March 29 after a person called in a suspicious circumstance near Vancouver Lake Park. That person was not hurt.

On April 3, police said they tried to pull Reeves over. He was driving a white Ford F-250 pickup and rammed a patrol car multiple times before fleeing. A chase on Interstate 5 included Reeves driving southbound in the northbound lanes during rush hour traffic.

The next day, Reeves was thought to be driving a blue Ford F-350 that had been stolen earlier that morning. Officers tried to stop him, but he once again drove recklessly to escape, police said.

On Wednesday night officers were called to the 2100 block of East 26th Street for the report of a suspicious vehicle. They figured out Reeves was inside.

As they came close, Reeves ran into the neighborhood, and after a long search, was arrested and taken to the Clark County jail. He was expected to make a court appearance Friday morning.
