SALEM, Ore. – A 4-year-old and a 6-year-old were injured in a crash in Salem on Saturday.

The 4-year-old is in critical condition at a Portland hospital, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The 6-year-old was hospitalized for observation.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at around noon at Cordon Road Northeast and Swegle Road. Deputies say the children were riding in a northbound car on Cordon Road that was turning onto Swegle Road when it collided with a southbound vehicle.

Cordon Road was closed for hours in the area of the crash.
