OREGON CITY, Ore. -- A man and his dog were shot outside an Albertsons grocery store at Highway 213 and Beavercreek Road Monday night.

Tuesday morning, Oregon City police said there were searching for three people, who had scheduled a meeting in the parking lot where the man was shot.

Officers were dispatched about 9:10 p.m. found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg and the dog with a gunshot wound across the neck.

The man was transported to OHSU for treatment, an officer rushed the dog to a veterinary hospital. Both were expected to survive.

Police centered their investigation around the man’s truck, which had a dog crate in the bed, interviewing several people who were in the area at the time of the shooting.

“We're still trying to determine some of the specifics regarding the circumstances but it's a work in progress. We're obtaining video surveillance and things like that, talking to lots of witnesses, “ said Oregon City Police Officer Mike Day.
