PORTLAND, Ore. -- A semi truck carrying a load of hay crashed Monday morning, closing Interstate 5 at the Marquam Bridge for seven hours.
The rollover crash happened at about 4:40 a.m., at the I-5 and I-84 split off the bridge. At 10:40 a.m., a tow truck was just removing the tractor and two trailers. The lanes were reopened about 11:45.
The name and condition of the driver were not available.
The closure of I-5 northbound also affected the inbound U.S. 26 commute, stretching it out to 90 minutes from Brookwood Parkway into downtown Portland.
Commuters on 99W were at a virtual standstill.
