SCAPPOOSE, Ore. – Firefighters rescued a driver who spent the night in an SUV after crashing down an embankment along Dutch Canyon Road in Scappoose.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. A passerby noticed the crashed SUV around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters had to remove the roof of the vehicle to get the person out, according to Jeff Pritchard with Scappoose Fire.

Pritchard said the vehicle was difficult to see from one side of the road due to heavy brush.

The driver was taken to a Portland hospital with unknown injuries. The person’s name was not immediately released.
