The OnPoint Prize for Excellence in Education celebrates inspiring and innovative teachers. Anyone, including teachers themselves can nominate a teacher for Educator of the Year. The OnPoint Prize is awarded at the end of each school year to participating teachers who best meet these criteria:
- Teachers who inspire creativity and enthusiasm in the classroom
- Educators who demonstrate exemplary teaching methods and style
- Individuals who have significant impact on students, parents and peers

Awards and Recognition
In 2018, the OnPoint Prize for Excellence in Education presents the popular Educator of the Year award and the Community Builder school award
Educator of the Year
- Educator of the Year: K-8
The educator's mortgage will be paid for one school year, plus $2,500 will be awarded to their school for resources and supplies.

Two educators will be recognized with a a $2,500 cash award, plus an additional $1,000 award for each of their schools for resources and supplies.
Up to six educators will be named to the Circle of Excellence and will be recognized with a $1,000 cash award, plus $500 for each of their schools for resources and supplies.
The Community Builder prize will award $1,000 to four schools for a school project of their choice.
