LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (AP) - A Dallas man was killed and another man injured in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 101 along the Oregon coast.

The Oregon State Police say the crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

They say a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup towing an empty boat trailer, driven by 32-year-old Timothy Alexander Elizondo of Dallas, was heading north on the 101. The pickup went around a curve on wet asphalt when it crossed into the other lane and struck a tree.

Elizondo was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 36-year-old Jeffrey Dale Hendrickson of Dallas was not injured.

Officials say alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
