RAINIER, Ore. – A woman was killed and another injured in a crash between a log truck and car Friday afternoon on Highway 30 near Rainier.
The collision occurred at about 12:20 p.m. near milepost 45, about two miles east of Rainier.
OSP said the truck was westbound when an eastbound Nissan Altima turned left directly in front of the truck. Both vehicles came to rest in the yard of an adjacent home.
A woman who was a passenger in the Altima, 19-year-old Tatum Tootoosis-Didier, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Altima, 24-year-old Kassandra Westom, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries, OSP said.
The driver of the truck was evaluated by medics and stayed at the scene.
The highway was closed intermittently for about six hours following the crash.
