CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. -- A crash closed Interstate 84 in both directions for a time about five miles west of Cascade Locks.

Traffic in all lanes was restored shortly before 8 a.m.

Two semis jack-knifed at a dip in the freeway near Bonneville Dam, according to ODOT spokesman Don Hamilton.

The collision added to severe traffic conditions that remain on the freeway through the Columbia Gorge, where traction devices are required.
