PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman shot while walking to her car in Northeast Portland Tuesday night was released from a Portland hospital Wednesday morning.
The victim, a 34-year-old woman, did not provide any information to police about the suspect of reason for the shooting.
Police found her with a leg injury and medics took her to a hospital.
The shooting was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. at Northeast 33rd Avenue and Killingsworth Street. Witnesses told police they heard several shots and saw a black sedan speed away.
Gunfire shattered with car window of the manager of the nearby Concordia Ale House, who said an employee narrowly missed being on the street as the gunfire rang out.
"We literally would have been leaving," she told KGW. "I had an employee ask if she could leave a second early. She said she had things to do and I said I prefer if we all left together and literally within not even a minute, we heard the gunshots and so it was very lucky she didn't go after all."
The Gang Enforcement Team is leading the investigation. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 503-823-4106.
