TURNER, Ore. -- The woman who was fatally shot inside her Turner home on Sunday afternoon has been identified as 52-year-old Judy Stanfill.
The victim's husband, 53-year-old Clayton Stanfill, was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail following his release from a hospital. He is recovering from a gunshot wound.
Stanfill is being held for probation violation related to unrelated assault and menacing charges.
Police say they don't believe anyone else was involved in the incident and there is no immediate threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
Deputies were sent at 4:26 p.m. to the 5000 block of Ash Street in Turner after a man walked into the Turner Fire Department with a gunshot wound. The station is located across the street from the man's house.
Turner Fire Department personnel began treating the man and called the sheriff's office for assistance.
Deputies searched the man's home and found a woman dead inside. Police believe the man and the woman were both shot inside the house.
