PORTLAND, Ore. -- Three teenagers were arrested by the Portland Police Gang Enforcement Team in connection with two shootings that happened Sunday in Southeast Portland.

In the first shooting, which took place at around 1 p.m., a 17-year-old young man was critically injured after he was shot multiple times at the Glenwood Apartments, at 13116 Southeast Powell Boulevard. He is expected to survive, police said.

Nobody was injured in the second shooting, which happened at about 9:45 p.m.

The second shooting damaged a home where the mother of the first shooting victim and a small child were inside. Police believe the second shooting was in retaliation for the first shooting.

Marcel Anthony Wilson and Daquantre Armstrong, both 17 years old, were arrested after the first shooting. They have been booked into the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home on charges of attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

The suspect in the second shooting, 17-year-old Ricky Antwan Gaters, was also booked into the juvenile detention home and faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
