BEAVERTON, Ore. – A woman was arrested after she stole a $15,000 wedding ring, credit cards and other valuables from another woman on Thursday in Beaverton.

The victim was swimming at a Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District facility when the suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Nikole Corrine Campbell, stole the woman’s wedding ring and car keys from her bag, according to Beaverton police.

The suspect then entered the woman’s car, taking her purse, credit/debit cards, $3,000 worth of Nike shoes, tax paperwork and other personal items, police said.

After stealing the items, police say Campbell bought gift cards from a Fred Meyer and withdrew more than $1,000 from two different ATM machines using the victim’s debit cards.

With the help of Fred Meyer and a credit card company, police were able to track one of the gift cards to an Extended Stay America at 19311 NW Cornell Rd.

Officers arrived at the hotel on Friday and took Campbell into custody. She was lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of aggravated theft and identity theft.

Police recovered the woman’s wedding ring, credit cards, tax paperwork, some her Nike shoes, more than $700 cash, and more than $700 in gift cards.

Police said property found in Campbell's possessions implicate her in the theft of multiple other cases.
