PORTLAND, Ore. -- A person was shot and injured in Northeast Portland on Monday evening.

The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound near Northeast 71st Avenue and Fremont Street at about 6:18 p.m. He was taken by ambulance to a Portland hospital.

Police said they are looking for additional victims at the crime scene, and are trying to contact a nearby residence to see if any of the occupants were involved in the shooting either as witnesses or victims. The occupants of the home are not cooperating, police said.

The suspect or suspects left the area before police arrived, according to initial results of the investigation..

Traffic around NE Sandy Boulevard and Fremont Street may be affected.
