CORNELIUS, Ore. -- Deputies are searching for a man who they say was caught on camera robbing a Cornelius bar at knifepoint.

Surveillance video showed the suspect walking into the Jungle Room bar, just before noon on Saturday.

“I would be lying if I said that it didn't scare me,” said bar manager Tanya Hughes, who was working at the time. “He pulled a knife… I was like, 'What are you doing?' He's like, ‘I want the money.’”

Video showed the man following Tanya to the cash register at knifepoint and taking an undisclosed amount of cash.

“He was telling everybody to stay put,” said Hughes. “At first I was angry that the person was behind my bar but then of course fear steps in, and concern for the customers.”

Deputies tried to track the suspect with a K-9 unit but couldn’t find him. The suspect was described as a 5-foot-1 Hispanic man in his mid-20s, with a slim build and short facial hair.

“We're all vulnerable at this time because he's still out there,” said Hughes. “I would hate to hear of this happening to any of our neighbors.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at 503-846-2500.
