A Tillamook County man is facing an aggravated murder charge for allegedly shooting a Gervais man to death Friday morning.
Jose Ricardo Barboza-Manzo, 21, was arrested Monday on suspicion murdering Kenny Kalugin, 37, who was found dead in a car in an alley west of the 1800 block of Liberty St NE shortly after 7 a.m. Friday.
Kalugin died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Salem Police detectives arrested Barboza-Manzo at a residence in unincorporated Tillamook County after initially failing to obey commands to leave the home by Oregon State Police SWAT. He surrendered after an unknown amount of time being holed up in the residence, according to Salem Police.
He also was arrested on warrants for felony attempting to elude, misdemeanor attempting to elude, reckless driving and harassment.
Barboza-Manzo is facing aggravated murder, first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon related to Kalugin's murder.
The investigation is ongoing. Salem Police is not releasing additional information at this time.
Barboza-Manzo is currently facing unrelated charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license and failing to secure a child with a seat belt or safety system.
