PORTLAND, Ore. -- A man drove his car into a group of people in Southeast Portland Sunday afternoon in the 100 block of Southeast 97th Street near Mall 205, police said.
Two people were taken to the hospital, one with serious injuries.
The driver of the silver 2016 Chevrolet Impala also hit a third person, who did not seek medical attention, police said.
Henry Nikila II is accused of DUII, second-degree assault, three counts of recklessly endangering, three counts of failure to perform the duties of a driver.
Witnesses told KGW's Mike Benner that the driver plowed into the crowd about 4 p.m. after being told to slow down.

Police found Nikila and his vehicle at the Chestnut Tree Inn, 9699 SE Stark St. Officers saw significant front-end damage to the car.
Investigators said speed and impairment may be factors in what appeared to be a deliberate act to crash into a group of people.
