WOODBURN, Ore. – Police are asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who they say exposed himself to girls at Woodburn Laundromat.

It happened at the laundromat, located at 1188 N. Pacific Highway, on Monday, May 8. Police said the man was observed on video exposing his genitals.

The incident happened in broad daylight, in front of several children under the age of 10, according to police. City of Woodburn Spokesman Jason Horton says, at this time, police don't know who the man is, or where he is from.

"We want him off the street. He's exposing himself to young girls, young kids, and that’s not OK," said Horton.

Horton also said, according to surveillance video, it appeared the man was specifically targeting young children, trying to get their attention, as he exposed himself.

“You feel creepy about it, and it’s kind of weird when you hear about things like that. It’s really scary, especially for girls who are younger,” said Griselda Acevedo. She’s been to the laundromat several times, but doesn’t recognize the man. "He's an adult, and should be acting as an adult, and not be acting like a weird person!"

"It's disgusting. As a father you don't want to see people doing this to young kids. Our job here is to keep people safe, and so, getting people like him off the street is very important to us," said Horton.

The Woodburn Laundromat owners, in a statement, said, “We believe this is an isolated incident. Our customer's safety is our number one priority, and we are working closely with the Woodburn Police Department to make sure the suspect is arrested, and this never happens again.”

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity of whereabouts is asked to call Woodburn police at 503-982-2345.
