KEIZER, Ore. – A man who barricaded himself in an apartment off River Road North was found dead about 1 a.m. Friday.
Police say it appears the man died of a self inflicted gunshot.
Police first attempted to contact the man at 8 p.m. after he was a pedestrian involved in some sort of collision with a vehicle in the area.
The suspect was wanted on two felony warrants and was considered armed and dangerous, Keizer police said.
He was barricaded in an apartment near River Road and Sandy Drive. Police used crisis negotiators, flash bangs and even a robot to try and communicate with the man but he never responded.
River Road North was closed between Chemawa Road and Lockhaven Drive. The roads have since reopened and police have cleared the scene.
