TIGARD, Ore. – Following its usual tradition, Bridgeport Village shopping center will be closed on Thanksgiving.

The popular mall made the announcement Tuesday, saying they want employees to spend the holiday with their families. The closure announcement comes a week after Mall of America said it will be closed on Thanksgiving.

“The retail stores at Bridgeport Village have closed on Thanksgiving since opening 11 years ago and we’re happy to see others following suit. We’ve always felt it’s important to give employees a chance to spend that time with friends and family,” said Chad Hastings, general manager of CenterCal Properties.

Retail stores will reopen at 9 a.m. on Black Friday.

While stores will be closed, Regal Cinemas at Bridgeport Village will remain open.

The annual Oregon Turkeython, a 5K and 10K that raises money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, will still take place at Bridgeport Village on Thanksgiving with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m. For more information on the Turkeython, click here.
