PORTLAND, Ore. -- If you’re a cat lover with a competitive streak, the Meow Mix Game Show just might be for you.

The producers of The Meow Mix Game Show will be in town for two days looking for the purrfect cat-testants to appear on the world’s first game show to test how well people can think like their cat.

The 30-minute program, in which cats and their humans will compete as a team, will air on Game Show Network (GSN) on November 15, 2008.

The audition process will include a quiz (for people) on general feline knowledge, as well as a Hollywood-style screen test to see how well cat and human appear on camera.

One team from Portland will be flown to Los Angeles for the taping in August, where they will compete against cat-testants from seven other cities for the chance to win $1 million plus $100,000 for a local animal shelter.

For every team that auditions, Meow Mix will donate one pound of Wholesome Goodness® cat food to Portland’s Cat Adoption Team.

Auditions are open to all pet parents over the age of 18 and their cats. All cats must be transported in carriers.

Auditions are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 20 at the Red Lion Hotel Portland - Convention Center located at 1021 N.E. Grand Avenue
