Oregon woman thrown into jail for stomping on puppy

MEDFORD, Ore. -- A 19-year-old woman who stomped and threw her Pomeranian puppy at a Medford shopping center has been sentenced to 10 days in jail.
Rae Dawn Parnell pleaded guilty to felony animal abuse and resisting arrest after she attacked the small puppy in front of witnesses and scuffled with a police officer.
Parnell must also serve two years on probation and cannot have a pet for the next 10 years.

The 3-month-old female puppy is recovering at the Jackson County animal shelter.
