The case generated headlines in October 2007 when Crystal Sellers was charged with physically abusing a docile and submissive pit bull who showed no signs of aggression.
Investigators from the Oregon Humane Society seized the pit bull. Sellers was arrested at the scene by Portland Police for attempted assault on an officer. Those charges were later dropped.
Multnomah Country Judge Christopher Larsen sentenced Sellers to one year of probation, 128 hours of community service and no possession of additional domestic animals for five years.
The Humane Society says Lucy the pit bull now has a nice home.
