Dave Northfield is a general assignment reporter, who came to NewsChannel 8 in 2001 from Salt Lake City, where he was a reporter and anchor for KTVX, the ABC affiliate, for ten years. While there, he anchored the morning news for seven years and spent four years in the “Cover Story” unit. Prior to that, Dave was a reporter/anchor at KGET in Bakersfield, CA, and has worked as a reporter, writer and even a media planner in New York and San Francisco.
Dave received his BA in English from The University of California, Berkeley and his MS in Journalism from Columbia University in New York. Dave is a native of San Rafael, California, and enjoys skiing, backpacking and biking in his free time.
Dave and his wife Tracy, a social worker, have three children.
