Katherine Cook joined NewsChannel 8 in the summer of 2007. After spending 2 years at KKTV-TV in Colorado Springs, Katherine was happy to trade blizzards and tornados for a little rain in her home state of Oregon.
Before moving to Colorado, Katherine was a reporter and weekend anchor for KDRV-TV in Medford, where she was honored by Oregon's Associated Press for her news writing. Katherine began her journalism career as KDRV's Klamath Falls Bureau Chief, specializing in environmental issues affecting the Klamath Basin.
Katherine grew up in Portland, OR and attended Reynolds High School. She graduated from Western Oregon University, where she ran track for the Wolves.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys running, hiking, painting and playing the violin. She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
