Scott Burton started his career in television at Dateline NBC. While working from the show's New York headquarters, Scott helped produce general assignment and investigative reports for correspondents including Bob McKeown, Stone Phillips and Hoda Kotb.

Burton's work continued in San Diego as a consumer producer/writer for KFMB-TV. While at KFMB, he helped uncover an elaborate telemarketing scam targeting senior citizens. His undercover work helped expose a con artist who was later prosecuted by the Federal Trade Commission.

Wanting to take ownership of his work, Scott moved to Klamath Falls to begin his career in front of the camera. As KDRV-TV's Klamath Falls bureau chief, Scott reported from the fields as southern Oregon farmers protested their water rights.

Burton made the jump to Las Vegas, NV after Klamath Falls. He worked for KTNV-TV for nearly five years as a general assignment reporter. There his work was featured on Good Morning America, CNN, Inside Edition and Celebrity Justice.

Scott returned to Oregon in July 2005 to accept his current position as general assignment reporter for KGW Northwest Newschannel 8.

Scott grew up in San Jose, CA and graduated from the University of San Diego.
