Tracy Barry can be seen weeknights anchoring KGW Northwest NewsChannel 8 @ 5 and 6 with co-anchor Joe Donlon and NewsChannel 8 @ 6:30 with co-anchor Laural Porter.
Tracy joined NewsChannel 8 in 1985. Her prior experience includes work as an anchor and reporter at KATU-TV (ABC) in Portland; at KSTW-TV (UPN) in Tacoma, Washington; at KTVB-TV (NBC) in Boise, Idaho; and at KPVI-TV (NBC) in Pocatello, Idaho.
A 1977 graduate of Washington State University, Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She is currently an honorary board member of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications at Washington State University.
Tracy is the recipient of numerous awards including the Society for Professional Journalists Award for Best Feature Story in 1998 and the Oregon Associated Press award for Best Feature Story in 1997. She was also nominated for two Emmy Awards in 1998 for her past work on "Eight's Heroes", a series that looked at people who made a difference in our community
A native of the Northwest, Tracy grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington. She is active in the community and focuses her energy on fundraising for childrens' charities. Tracy and her husband have two daughters.
